Hello again! I told you I was going to get better at this;) Although there is not definite news to share, I thought I would let everyone know how it is going.
I am being very optimistic about my job hunt. There are several openings in a couple of districts. I just need them to notice my application!!! Since enrollment is winding up, I think there are more possibilities for principals to be calling. Keep your fingers crossed. Until the principals do start calling, I am pursuing a few districts for substituting. That will keep me busy this year and give me a head start in the job hunt next year!! (I'm sure you can tell my spirits are more positive this week!)
On another note - for anyone who actually reads this - Tyler and I have made the decision to stop not trying to get pregnant but still not be actively trying. I know this sounds a little odd, but we are both happy with the decision. All this means is we will keep doing what we've been doing and not take any preventative measures. We will happily accept a new addition to our family but we aren't going to put pressure on us to make an addition. **I'm secretly hoping this will speed up the addition!!:P**
We did make a successful trip to North Dakota to see the Odegaards and help them celebrate 60 years of marriage!! YAY for them!!! I hope Tyler and I make 60 years!!! It was a very long drive but we made the most of it! Tyler even rode the carousel I used to ride when I was a kid!! He loved it:) Our best time was spend on the farm in Wyndmere. It really brought back memories and gave Tyler a chance to get to know 2 or the most amazing people in the world. Harriet also gave me a wonderful gift. She had a copy of Little Black Sambo. Although the book is banned, it is a wonderful addition to my collection of children's books. It is mainly for my own personal library. I love it!!
Hello! This is a blog that I can share photos and updates on what is going on in my life with friends and family and whoever else is searching the web!

Packing Up
This weekend, Tyler and I get to go on a mini-vacation! It's our first one since our honeymoon. We are going to North Dakota to celebrate the 60 year young marriage of my great aunt and uncle! I'm super excited to see them again. When we tell everyone we're going to ND, they all ask why?. But we are excited to pack up and take a road trip!!
We will stay busy visiting and site seeing (there are some good things in ND!). I am eager for Tyler to meet the Odegaards!! Congratulations to them on such a long, wonderful marriage!! I hope to follow in their footsteps;)

What's New?
Since my last post (a long time ago), I have completed student teaching, graduated college, and have been jobless... The search is on, but I haven't had much luck in the hunt for a teaching job. My applications are out, but no calls for interviews. It is becoming very disappointing and heartbreaking. I worked extremely hard for the past few years and feel as though I did all that work for nothing. My motivation and confidence are slowing disappearing.
I know I can be a substitute teacher which will be great - I'll be making some money and getting my face out there. I just feel as though I would be settling for 2nd best. My heart is set on a full-time teaching position where I can work with students and help them succeed. That is what I want. I may be a little ahead of myself by complaining though. Many sources I've spoken with have told me to be patient and that jobs would be opening up at the end of July and early August due to enrollment figures. I do hope they're right.
On a better note - - I have spent the summer so far enjoying the comfort of my home and my two wonderful dogs. I have started a laundry list of tasks and am running low on motivation and energy to complete it! I have repainted the livingroom, hallway, front door, bathroom, and bathroom cabinets, we put in a small grill patio, I organized the office to make it super functional and to store all the great things my mentor teacher gave me for my future classroom, and rearranged the furniture in the bedroom. That list may not sound like much, but it has all taken time. We are eager to complete our small house renovation by replacing the siding and windows this fall and adding a large deck with another patio for entertaining in the back. We also hope to replace the carpets with new wood floors in the main house and carpet in the bedrooms! It will be quite a transformation!! The kitchen is also going to be updated with a coat of paint on the cabinets and a new countertop and eventually new stainless steel appliances. The bathroom is going to be completed with a tile floor, new counter and new tub/shower!!! There are so many things left to do..but little money. I was told that was the way it all works once you own your own home ;)
Anyway. Tyler and I are doing pretty good. He is very supportive and understanding with my job search and looks forward to the day I start bringing home a paycheck!! Many may be wondering about when we will expand our family of 4 to 5 with a human child, not furry child. That all depends on when I start my career as a full-time classroom teacher. Everyone - - Keep your fingers crossed!!!
I will try to post again sooner. Hopefully there will be many great things to share with everyone!
