Finally Settled!!

August flew by and so much happened! We closed on our home, I started student teaching, we added Bailey to our family, and the roofers fell through our ceiling twice! It was a great month full of activity.

Latest News

Closing on our house is going to be Friday, August 7!! We are very excited that this process is coming to an end. We are planning on painting and moving everything this weekend...at least I am ;). Pizza and beer will be provided if interested....

Tyler is still enjoying his job. The night shift takes a lot out of him, but he likes it anyway. My last year of school started on July 31. I am full-time student teaching in an Olathe elementary school. It seems like it could be a busy year for us. We did get the pleasure of selecting a new member of our family. She will join us shortly after we close on the house. We have not chosen a name, but she is a beautiful german shorthaired pointer/huskie mix. She is chocolate in color and only 3 months old. Hopefully Brodie will accept her and play well together.

We are expected a few other new family members soon. I have a couple of cousins on the way as well as a couple of second cousins. We have a total of 7 new little people joining us within the next few months!! We look forward to meeting them!!

Finally!!

The roof situation is finally solved, thanks to our realtor's boss. She never told us she has only been a realtor for 3 months...which explains A LOT! However, everything seems to be going fine. We need to verify a few more things for the loan and we will be good to go!!!

Anticipated closing date is August 4th. If we get everything completed sooner, we may get to close August 1st!!! Everyone needs to get ready to clean and paint. Supplies and beverages will be supplied!!! Let me know if you can help or would like to help. When I know the exact closing date, I will let everyone know when the fun really begins!!

Thanks for everyone's support through this crazy process. Home buying should be more fun and less difficult. We do look forward to owning though.

AHHH!

So everything was going fine with the whole house thing. We are now having issues with the roof. It needs to be replaced and we are in negotiations. Needless to say, this has stressed me out to the max and Tyler is tagging along close behind. For some reason, I was under the impression the home buying was fun. I have since been corrected. The process of buying a home is anything but fun. It doesn't become fun until the keys are put in your hand. I'm beginning to worry if we wasted our money on 7 gallons of paint or not.... This waiting game is killing me.

Other than that, school is almost over for the summer. I meet with my class two more times. YAY!!! Tyler graduates from his training program on the 24th or 25th. Then he will officially be a corrections officer with the douglas county jail!!! Lots of things will be going on in the next month or two - stay posted. We also will have new additions coming into our extended family. I look forward to meeting them and blogging about it!!

Paint

Okay. Tyler and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. No one told us there was so much paperwork and running around included!!! We are trying to pick out paint colors which originally Tyler left up to me. I thought I had it figured out until I showed him. For someone who 'didn't care', he has a big opinion. We agree on the livingroom (tan), the kitchen (sage green), the bathroom (gray), the office (yellow), bedroom (leave alone until we have a little one on the way:P). As for the master bedroom, I picked out a mauvish color because he wanted something darker. However, he picked out a beige color. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
